**Tribunal Update**
April 2, 2024
Today, a person from Kogi Central spoke at the Kogi State governorship election petition tribunal in Abuja. They said there were too many votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo.
The witness bravely talked about what happened during voting at their polling unit in Adavi LGA. Problems during the Kogi Central election led to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) stopping the process in Ogori Mangogo and four other areas. They thought there were too many votes and that results sheets were filled in before the election.
Muri Ajaka, from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), isn't saying the central senatorial election was wrong. Instead, he's focusing on claims of too many votes, pre-filled results, and questioning if the APC candidate was qualified.
At least four people spoke as witnesses to support the claims of too many votes. But because of time limits, the court couldn't hear from the other two witnesses there. The case will continue on April 3, 2024.
