President Bola Tinubu is presently in a meeting with Asari Dokubo, a prominent leader and former agitator from the oil-rich Niger Delta region. The purpose of the meeting is not clear, but it is presumed that Dokubo is being included in the President's ongoing discussions with influential figures from the Niger Delta area. Dokubo arrived at the Aso Rock Villa at around 11:00 am and proceeded to have a private meeting with the President behind closed doors. It is worth noting that three weeks ago, Dokubo had mobilized youths from the Niger Delta to attend the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal session in Abuja. During that time, he had urged Nigerians to hold him accountable if the current administration under President Tinubu fails. Dokubo also expressed his views on the discontinuation of fuel subsidies, comparing the actions taken by former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari to what Tinubu has accomplished within the initial weeks of his administration. He stated that if Tinubu fails, he should be held responsible, emphasizing his unwavering support for Tinubu since 1992 and his belief in Tinubu's ability to bridge the gap between the government and the people. Dokubo added that Tinubu had taken a significant step from the beginning of his term, which his predecessors had failed to take, including Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari.
